Director, Agribusiness Consulting

Bill Wilson is the Director of Agribusiness Consulting for Farm Credit Council Services. In his current role, he is responsible for developing and delivering business solutions to enhance organisational effectiveness, business performance, and success for U.S. Farm Credit System Entities and agricultural cooperatives. Bill also provides merger and acquisition advisory services.

Prior to Farm Credit Council Services, Bill was with CoBank, a part of the U.S. Farm Credit System, for 20 years, serving as Vice President in the Commercial Agribusiness and Capital Markets Groups.  He also served as a Senior Consultant in the bank’s consulting practice. While at CoBank, Bill managed client relationships in the grain, agronomy, poultry, dairy and forest products agribusiness segments. His industry expertise includes the middle and large corporate markets. Before employment at CoBank Bill was Chief Financial Officer for two grain and farm supply cooperatives.

With 35 years of experience in the food, agribusiness and cooperative industry, as well as governance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and strategic planning, Bill knows that a comprehensive understanding of the client’s business strategy, opportunities, and challenges are essential to the design and delivery of effective business solutions.

In his current position, Bill is most proud of his leadership role in forming Farm Credit Council Service’s first governance and leadership development programs (the Advanced Governance Series and the Leadership Development Program) for agricultural cooperatives.
