Dr Paul Thambar is an accounting academic with the Department of Accounting at Monash University and came into academic after a long commercial career as a financial controller in banking, insurance, funds management and information technology. Paul’s research interests are in strategy, performance measurement and management
Paul’s research interests are in strategy, performance measurement and management controls in commercial, mutual and coops and not-for-profit organisations. Paul has researched strategy and management controls in the Australian cotton industry, across multiple firms as part of his doctoral research. Paul teaches accounting in the Monash MBA program and in the Master of Accounting program.
Prior to joining Monash in Feb 2016, Paul was at UTS Business School from 2010 to 2015 where he also completed a PhD in Accounting.
Paul is a Fellow member (FCMA) of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK and holds the CGMA designation.
